Bugatti Chiron Super Sport – Price, Specifications, Performance, Photos & Videos
Bugatti: The Brand of Records
At Bugatti, every model is synonymous with extremes—but the “Super Sport” versions go even further. Their mission is simple: push the limits of speed. The latest one, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, follows the exclusive 300+ edition, inspired by the prototype that broke the mythical 490 km/h barrier.
Here is everything you need to know about this exceptional hypercar.
Overview
Before the Chiron Super Sport, Bugatti had already made history with the Veyron Super Sport, which set a record of 431.072 km/h in 2010.
In 2019, Bugatti returned with another historic moment: a specially prepared Chiron reached 490.484 km/h, surpassing 300 mph. This record led to the creation of a very limited series—the Chiron Super Sport 300+, produced in only 30 units, followed by a more customizable Super Sport version with the same specifications.
Design & Aerodynamics
The Chiron Super Sport benefits from major aerodynamic work:
Aerodynamic Optimization
Rear extended by 25 cm to optimize airflow.
Longer diffuser with vertically stacked exhaust outlets.
Larger front air intakes for improved airflow management.
Vertical air deflectors for better stability at high speeds.
More Power + Weight Reduction
23 kg lighter than the standard Chiron.
+100 hp, bringing the total to 1,600 hp.
1,600 Nm of torque, available across a wider range.
Engine: 8.0L W16 quad-turbo.
All-wheel drive + 7-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the price of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport?
€3.2 million before taxes.
2. How many units are produced?
30 units for the 300+ edition; the regular Super Sport depends on customer demand.
3. How much power does it have?
1,600 horsepower, 100 more than the standard Chiron.
4. What engine does it use?
A quad-turbo 8.0L W16 delivering 1,600 hp and 1,600 Nm through all-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
5. Is it the fastest car in the world?
Not currently.
In 2019, a specially prepared Bugatti Chiron Super Sport prototype reached 490.484 km/h, becoming the first car to break the 300-mph barrier. This run remains one of the most iconic speed achievements in automotive history.
However:
The record was made with a prototype, not a standard production car.
The customer versions (Chiron Super Sport & Super Sport 300+) are electronically limited to 440 km/h.
Other manufacturers, such as SSC and Koenigsegg, have since claimed higher top speeds for production cars.
For this reason, while the Chiron Super Sport is one of the fastest cars ever built, it is not officially the fastest car in the world today.
6. What is its 0–400 km/h time?
28.6 seconds.
